Softball Recap: Metro-East Lutheran Takes a Loss

If Metro-East Lutheran was feeling good fresh off their 13-1 takedown of Althoff Catholic last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Metro-East Lutheran Knights took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Alton Redbirds on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Knights in their meetings with the Redbirds: they've now lost six in a row.

Metro-East Lutheran saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Weber, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Thea Ball was another, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Metro-East Lutheran now has a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Metro-East Lutheran will head out to take on Staunton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Staunton will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Metro-East Lutheran surely won't give up without a fight. As for Alton, they will take on Litchfield at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
