Central is 0-3 against McAdory since September of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Falcons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Central is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 49-14 victory over Gardendale. With the Falcons ahead 42-7 at the half, the game was all but over already.
It was another big night for Anthony Dixon, who rushed for 126 yards and two TDs on only seven carries, and also picked up 32 receiving yards and one touchdown. His longest rush was for an incredible 85 yards. Armani White was another key player, throwing for 224 yards and a pair of TDs on only 16 passes.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Central was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 274 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gardendale only rushed for 100.
Meanwhile, McAdory put another one in the bag last Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed past Brookwood to the tune of 54-26. Given the Yellowjackets' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 37th, while the Panthers are ranked 159th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
McAdory's win came from a few key players Central will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Justin Patton, who threw for 254 yards and five touchdowns. Those five passing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Derrion Davis, who gained 141 total yards.
Central's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for McAdory, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Central has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 253.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like McAdory struggles in that department as they've been averaging 292.5 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Central suffered a grim 31-10 defeat to McAdory in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Yellowjackets' Carter Feagin, who picked up 250 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Now that the Falcons know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
