Soccer Recap: Broomfield Wins Going Away Against Horizon

Broomfield barely beat Horizon the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Hawks on Thursday. The result was nothing new for Broomfield, who have now won four contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting Horizon from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Seiji Yamaguchi led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Broomfield's victory bumped their record up to 6-3-2. As for Horizon, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-8-1 record this season.

Broomfield and Horizon could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings. The Eagles will face off against Legacy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (31 vs. 5). Meanwhile, Horizon (ranked 144th) will meet Erie (ranked 23rd) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
