Baseball Recap: St. Anthony Triumphs

St. Anthony posted their closest victory since May 27, 2025 on Saturday. They won by a run and slipped past the Ontario Christian Knights 6-5. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Saints also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2017.

Aidann Ruiz made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Nick Galluccio was incredible, getting on base in five of his six plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Owen Frazier, who got on base in three of his six plate appearances with one RBI.

St. Anthony's record now sits at 4-2-1. As for Ontario Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

St. Anthony has already played their next game (against Cerritos), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Ontario Christian, they will challenge Downey at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
