Volleyball Recap: Georgetown's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Georgetown proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by three) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Hendrickson Hawks. The win was familiar territory for the Eagles, who have now won four contests in a row.

Georgetown had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 14-25, 25-17, 25-20, 15-12.

Georgetown found their leader in sophomore Jordan Pitkethley, who had 16 digs and three assists.

Georgetown's victory bumped their record up to 21-11. As for Hendrickson, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-20.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Georgetown will take on rival Weiss at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Hendrickson is set to square off against their familiar foe Pflugerville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
