Soccer Game Preview: Auburndale vs. Lecanto

The Auburndale Bloodhounds will venture away from home to square off against the Lecanto Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Auburndale heads in on the heels of a playoff match on Wednesday. They fell just short of Innovation by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty seven goals in the game before, the Bloodhounds couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, Lecanto entered their tilt with Gainesville on Thursday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They never let the Hurricanes onto the board and left with a 2-0 victory. Give the Panthers' defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

GABRIELLA MALMBERG was the driving force of Lecanto's attack as she scored both of Lecanto's goals, bringing her season total up to 21 goals.

Lecanto pushed their record up to 14-3-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three contests. As for Auburndale, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 9-6 record.
