Football Recap: East Burke Falls Despite Big Games from Ossie Burkeen and Carter Bennett

East Burke was the 30-14 winner over Foard when they last played one another back in April of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Cavaliers took a 26-18 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers on Friday.

East Burke's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Carter Bennett, who rushed for 97 yards on only 12 carries, and Ossie Burkeen, who rushed for 86 yards and two touchdowns.

East Burke's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Foard, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

East Burke didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-22 loss against Freedom on the 5th. As for Foard, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 37-2 defeat against West Iredell on the 5th.
