Football Recap: St. Charles Comes Up Short

St. Charles and Winfield pushed the score to 36-35 the last time they played Winfield, but on Friday defenses reigned supreme. The Pirates took a 20-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. The Pirates' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it six in a row.

St. Charles' defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Winfield, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-6.

Looking ahead, St. Charles will challenge North Point at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Winfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
