Basketball Recap: Jake Matthews Key Part of a Team Effort in Bulldogs Win

After losing to San Augustine the last time they met, Pollok Central decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Pollok Central Bulldogs had just enough and edged the San Augustine Wolves out 46-43. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since December 6th.

Pollok Central got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jake Matthews out in front who went 6 for 10 on his way to 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dillan Hatcher, who posted ten points and five rebounds.

The victory made it two in a row for Pollok Central and bumps their season record up to 11-8. As for San Augustine, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pollok Central will head out to challenge Newton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for San Augustine, they will venture away from home to square off against West Sabine at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
