Baseball Recap: Apple Valley Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game, Apple Valley was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Oak Hills Bulldogs by a score of 9-4. This was a revenge game for the Sun Devils: when they faced off against the Bulldogs last Tuesday, they had to take a 20-8 loss.

Christopher Alvarez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Beau Lloyd was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Reveron, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Apple Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.

Apple Valley's victory bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Oak Hills, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-3 record.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Apple Valley beat the Bulldogs by a score of 9-3 on Thursday.
