Basketball Game Preview: College Station Cougars vs. Montgomery Bears

The College Station Cougars will venture away from home to face off against the Montgomery Bears at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. College Station is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.

On Tuesday, College Station earned a 56-43 win over Brenham. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 177th, while the Cubs are ranked 572nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Montgomery hadn't done well against Lake Creek recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Montgomery walked away with a 54-46 victory over Lake Creek.

Montgomery's win was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-3. As for College Station, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

College Station suffered a grim 71-45 defeat to Montgomery in their previous meeting back in January. Can College Station avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
