Volleyball Game Preview: Valor Christian Eagles vs. Woods Cross Wildcats

The Valor Christian Eagles will take on the Woods Cross Wildcats at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Tuesday, Valor Christian came up short against Regis Jesuit and fell 3-1.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Regis Jesuit scored at least 20 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 19-25, 25-22, 25-23.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Mason Walters, who had 11 digs. That's the most digs he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Renn Bailey, who had 13 assists and four digs.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Woods Cross, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Park City 3-2 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted since April 16, 2024.

Woods Cross wouldn't go down easily and took Park City into a fifth set where they got it done with a seven-point win. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-14, 25-21, 17-25, 15-8.

Valor Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Woods Cross, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
