Newman Central Catholic had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 65-55 win over the Kewanee Boilermakers. For the Comets, this counts as revenge for the 61-42 victory the Boilermakers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Newman Central Catholic now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Kewanee, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Mendota the next time they take the court. Newman Central Catholic will head out to face Mendota at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Kewanee will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th.
