Basketball Recap: Crooksville Takes a Loss

Crooksville lost against Maysville back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Crooksville Ceramics were dealt an 81-48 loss at the hands of the Maysville Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Ceramics can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 537th, while the Panthers are ranked 50th).

Maysville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jordyn Watson, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 15 boards. The match was Watson's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Gator Nichols, who went 9 of 21 en route to 23 points along with seven assists and four steals.

Crooksville dropped their record down to 0-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Maysville, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Crooksville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-37 victory against Alexander on the 21st. Maysville has also already played their next game, a 65-61 win against Coshocton on the 20th.
