Baseball Game Preview: Pleasant Hope Pirates vs. Walnut Grove Tigers

Pleasant Hope is 8-2 against Walnut Grove since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Pirates will square off against the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Pleasant Hope couldn't beat New Covenant Academy on Monday even though they stacked four runs on them in the second inning. The Pirates fell 7-4 to the Warriors.

Meanwhile, Walnut Grove fell victim to Galena and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Bears, falling 10-0. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Bears recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Pleasant Hope dropped their record down to 3-12 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Walnut Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.

Everything went Pleasant Hope's way against Walnut Grove in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Pleasant Hope made off with a 10-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
