Football Recap: Midlothian Heritage Jaguars vs. Poteet Pirates
While Midlothian Heritage put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Poteet. The Midlothian Heritage Jaguars simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Poteet Pirates 49-0. Considering the Jaguars have won four contests by more than 24 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Carter Rutenbar was his usual excellent self, throwing for 204 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 passes, while also rushing for 53 yards and a touchdown. Za'Ko Davis was another key player, rushing for 95 yards and two touchdowns.
Midlothian Heritage was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 245 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Poteet only rushed for 42.
Midlothian Heritage wouldn't let Poteet keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Midlothian Heritage can thank Demerick Isaac and Brayden Lafluer for forcing both of them.
The win was the fifth in a row for Midlothian Heritage, bringing their record for this year to 5-3. As for Poteet, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.
Midlothian Heritage wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 51-7 victory against Corsicana on the 1st. Poteet has also already played their next matchup, a 63-14 defeat against Ennis on the 1st.
