Kareem Walker, a four-star running back and the nation's No. 1 player at his position in the 247Composite, made a commitment to Michigan today, in an announcement ceremony held at DePaul Catholic (Wayne, N.J.)

Once an Ohio State commit, Walker chose Michigan over Florida State, Arizona State, Alabama and a host of other top programs.

A four-year varsity player, Walker finished his prodigious high school career with 4,563 total yards and 55 touchdowns, including 26 in his junior season.

He helped DePaul capture three consecutive state titles.

He joins a recruiting class at Michigan that features fellow New Jersey native Ahmir Mitchell, and could add Paramus Catholic star Rashan Gary, the nation's No. 1 overall recruit.
