Recap: South Barber Chieftains vs. Argonia Red Raiders
The South Barber Chieftains won the last time they faced the Argonia Red Raiders, and things went their way on Friday too. South Barber managed a 41-37 victory over Argonia. The victory made it back-to-back wins for South Barber.
Despite the loss, Argonia saw an underclassman step up: Carson Vineyard scored 18 points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Vineyard pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Dalton Morrison, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds.
South Barber's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Argonia, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-5.
South Barber will be home for the holidays to greet Wichita HomeSchool at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wichita HomeSchool knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully South Barber likes a good challenge. Argonia will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Attica at 7:30 a.m. on December 19th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kansas (Attica is ranked 290th, while Argonia is ranked 279th).
