Basketball Recap: Lighthouse Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Lighthouse Christian Academy lost against Eastern Greene back in November of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Lighthouse Christian Academy Lions had to suffer through a 63-28 loss at the hands of the Eastern Greene Thunderbirds. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Lighthouse Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ellie Mae Winders posted 21 points and three steals. That was a full 75% of Lighthouse Christian Academy's points, marking the 15th time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points.

Lighthouse Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-21. As for Eastern Greene, their victory ended a ten-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-17.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Lighthouse Christian Academy will take on White River Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. White River Valley will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Lighthouse Christian Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Eastern Greene, they will square off against West Vigo at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
