Basketball Game Preview: Wasilla Warriors vs. Colony Knights

Wasilla is 2-8 against Colony since March of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Wasilla Warriors will welcome the Colony Knights at 4:30 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Wasilla is headed into Saturday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Wednesday. They came up short against Bettye Davis East Anchorage, falling 72-48.

Meanwhile, Colony came up short against University last Monday and fell 58-51. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Knights came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked second in Alaska, while the Titans are ranked 198th in Washington).

Colony has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season. As for Wasilla, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Wasilla lost to Colony at home by a decisive 56-40 margin when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can Wasilla avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
