Basketball Game Preview: Sound Christian Lions vs. Auburn Adventist Falcons

The Sound Christian Lions will face off against the Auburn Adventist Falcons at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Auburn Adventist is hoping to do what Pope John Paul II couldn't on Monday: put an end to Sound Christian's winning streak, which now stands at six games. Sound Christian blew past Pope John Paul II 44-10. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 22 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Abby Mesler, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 steals. Her evening made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Kaila Brogan was another key player, putting up six points and five steals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Auburn Adventist). They breezed by Forest Ridge Sacred Heart to the tune of 65-18 on Monday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Falcons as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Sound Christian's win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 27.3 points. As for Auburn Adventist, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Sound Christian suffered a grim 50-28 defeat to Auburn Adventist in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Sound Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
