Basketball Recap: Tremont Comes Up Short

Tremont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were dealt a 63-25 loss at the hands of the Mantachie Mustangs. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 64-32 back in November of 2024.

Despite the loss, Tremont still got an impressive performance from Rico Rojas, who posted 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance gave Rojas a new career-high in boards.

Tremont's defeat dropped their record down to 5-22. As for Mantachie, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-11.

Tremont will face off against Wheeler at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Wheeler's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six matches. Mantachie does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
