Baseball Recap: Ringgold Comes Up Short

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last five times Ringgold and Belle Vernon have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Tuesday. The Rams fell 5-2 to the Leopards. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rams of the 5-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Ringgold got a good showing from Ashton Mincin, who pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Mincin also tossed a walk, which is notable because the Rams are 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 0-3 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Ringgold saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kennedy Nash, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Nash also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

Ringgold's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Belle Vernon, the win keeps they at an undefeated 4-0.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Leopards beat Ringgold by a score of 8-0 on Wednesday.
