Basketball Recap: Freeport Bulldogs vs. Walton Braves
Freeport had lost five straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 6-14 to make it six. They lost 84-59 to the Walton Braves. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 70-57 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2025.

When it comes to explaining why Freeport lost, don't look at Rj Humes. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. The Bulldogs are 2-1 when Humes posts ten or more boards, but 4-13 otherwise. Hampton MacHado also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Fuentes is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 60% in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Whitton West, who went 5-for-11 to rack up 14 points.
Freeport has already played their next game, an 83-51 defeat against Baker on the 20th. As for Walton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 56-44 loss against Rocky Bayou Christian on the 22nd.
