If Jefferson wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Johnson, they should've done a better job of containing Marc Anthony. The Jaguars managed a 61-55 win over the Mustangs on Tuesday thanks in part to Anthony, who went 11-for-19 to rack up 30 points along with eight boards and three steals. The contest was his third in a row with at least 20 points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Fashaw, who posted six points and 12 rebounds. He has become a key player for Johnson: the team is undefeated when he posts at least eight boards, but 2-3 otherwise.

Jefferson's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Calvin Howard, who had ten points and six rebounds. Philip Prather also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Johnson's record now sits at 5-3. As for Jefferson, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Johnson is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will challenge New Braunfels at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Unicorns have been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Jefferson, they will head out to take on Holy Cross at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
