Basketball Recap: Cross Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Curtis Baptist, Cross was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Their defense stepped up to hand Varsity Opponent a 2-0 shutout. The two-point effort marked the Stingrays' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Cross' victory bumped their record up to 2-7.

Cross and Charleston Collegiate will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. Charleston Collegiate knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Cross likes a good challenge. As for Varsity Opponent, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 92-64 win against Martin Luther on the 16th.
