Basketball Recap: Mantachie Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Mantachie can now relate to. They were outmatched by the Choctaw County Chargers and fell 73-44. The Mustangs were not able to make up for their loss to the Chargers from their previous meeting back in February of 2018.

It was another big night for Caleb Cunningham, who posted 24 points for Choctaw County. The matchup was Cunningham's 12th in a row with at least 16 points. Jayvion Lowery was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Mantachie's defeat dropped their record down to 15-14. As for Choctaw County, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-12 record this season.

Mantachie does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Choctaw County, they will take on Edwards at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Choctaw County's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.
