Basketball Recap: Reagan Davis' Big Game Can't Quite Lead First Christian over Open Bible Christian

First Christian was the 58-22 winner over Open Bible Christian when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The First Christian Lions took a 40-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Open Bible Christian.

First Christian lost on Monday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Reagan Davis, who posted seven points in addition to four steals and three blocks. Davis is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last 15 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Walker, who went 6 of 10 en route to 15 points.

Even though they lost, First Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in seven consecutive games.

First Christian's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 17-4. As for Open Bible Christian, they pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

First Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Open Bible Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 36-17 victory against Northside Christian Academy on the 4th.
