Basketball Recap: Eastlake Has No Trouble Against Hazen

Eastlake posted their biggest victory since December 30, 2023 on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 67-47 margin over the Hazen Highlanders. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolves.

Despite the defeat, Hazen saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Suhail Abdulmumin almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards. Malakai Cortez was another key player, putting up six points.

Eastlake now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Hazen, they dropped their record down to 3-16 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Eastlake wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 54-53 win against Newport - Bellevue on the 28th. Hazen has also already played their next matchup, a 55-52 defeat against Juanita on the 28th.
