Baseball Recap: North Thurston Takes a Loss

North Thurston fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Capital on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 6-5. The Rams have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

North Thurston saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kole French, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

North Thurston's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Capital, the win keeps they at an undefeated 6-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Thurston will square off against Montesano at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Rams will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least ten runs in their last four contests. As for Capital, they will take on Kelso at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cougars 2.8, the Hilanders 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
