Football Recap: St. Marys Blue Devils vs. Ravenswood Red Devils
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Tyler, St. Marys was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Ravenswood Red Devils 40-7. Considering the Blue Devils have won four matches by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
St. Marys got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Logan Eddy out in front who rushed for 202 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Eddy really tore up the turf during one magnificent 81-yard run. Ryan Kent was another key player, rushing for 88 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
St. Marys was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 409 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to St. Marys' defense and their four sacks. Ravenswood's QB won't forget Eli Wilson anytime soon given he sacked him twice.
St. Marys is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-6 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 28.7 points. As for Ravenswood, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.
St. Marys will venture away from home to take on Tucker County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tucker County will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something St. Marys surely won't give up without a fight. Ravenswood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
