Basketball Recap: Mohave Accelerated Skates Past River Valley with Ease

There's no place like home for Mohave Accelerated, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They blew past the River Valley Dust Devils 52-14 on Wednesday. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 35 points or more this season.

Leading Mohave Accelerated to victory were Katie Farnell and Tanner Banks. Farnell went 7 for 13 on her way to 15 points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals, while Banks almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards. That's the most rebounds Banks has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Megan Jones, who posted five points and four steals.

Mohave Accelerated smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Mohave Accelerated pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for River Valley, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Mohave Accelerated wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 59-58 defeat against Boulder City on the 9th. As for River Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 45-25 loss against Highland Prep on the 10th.
