Baseball Recap: Cheney Takes a Loss

Cheney was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Ridgeline Falcons, falling 9-3. That's two games in a row now that the Blackhawks have lost by exactly six runs.

Nolan McKinnon was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run.

Cheney's loss dropped their record down to 0-17. As for Ridgeline, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-5.

Coming up, Cheney will face off against Shadle Park at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Highlanders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.56 runs per game on average), something the Blackhawks will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Ridgeline, they will challenge Ferris at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Saxons have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season.
