Mt. Vernon faced St. Edward in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Yellowjackets narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Eagles 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Yellowjackets have posted since April 4th.
Mt. Vernon was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (108-104), but they still managed to win. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 26-24, 20-25, 18-25, 15-13.
