Football Recap: Lufkin Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Lufkin played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Barbers Hill Eagles and fell 35-7. The matchup marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Lufkin lost, don't look at Kenny Waters. Despite the final result, he rushed for 97 yards and one TD on only 13 carries. Waters really tore up the turf during one magnificent 74-yard run.

Even if they lost, Lufkin's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Jameria Davis was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 11. Lufkin got some further help from Desmen Hood: he made 13 total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Barbers Hill got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tripp Davis out in front who picked up 66 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 34 yards. Kaegan Morton also helped out with an impressive 91 receiving yards.

Lufkin moved to 3-2 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Barbers Hill, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.
