Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Bryson Mcmanigell and Cadarian Urune Lead Rowlett to Victory

Rowlett's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 61-46 victory over the Garland Owls. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 87-42 back in December of 2024.

Rowlett was led to victory by Cadarian Urune and Bryson Mcmanigell. Urune went 7 for 14 on his way to 18 points and five rebounds, while Mcmanigell posted ten points and three steals. The matchup was Urune's third in a row with at least ten points. Leeland Douglas was another key player, putting up eight points.

Despite the loss, Garland still got an impressive performance from Caleb Ibeneme, who went 8 of 13 en route to 25 points. Those 25 points gave Ibeneme a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Warren, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 14 points.

Rowlett's win bumped their record up to 10-14. As for Garland, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Wylie the next time they take the court. Rowlett will host Wylie at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Garland will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
