Football Recap: Swansboro Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Swansboro unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 27-21 to the South Columbus Stallions on Friday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it ten in a row.

Swansboro's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kevin Till, who threw for 323 yards and two TDs while picking up 12.0 yards per attempt. Carmello Beasley also helped out as he racked up 176 receiving yards.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Swansboro will take on Pamlico County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South Columbus, they will challenge West Columbus at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
