Basketball Recap: Saratoga Springs Comes Up Short

Saratoga Springs was the 62-49 winner over Guilderland when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Saratoga Springs Blue Streaks took a 55-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Guilderland Flying Dutchmen. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Blue Streaks came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 165th, while the Flying Dutchmen are ranked 395th).

Saratoga Springs has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Guilderland, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-9.

Saratoga Springs will face off against Schenectady at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Saratoga Springs is facing Schenectady at the right time seeing as Schenectady is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Guilderland, they will venture away from home to square off against Columbia at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Guilderland will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: Columbia will have lost seven straight heading into Tuesday's matchup.
