Legacy and Mountain Range are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2016, but not for long. The Legacy Lightning will head out on the road to challenge the Mountain Range Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Legacy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.8 points per game this season.
Last Tuesday, Legacy was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 48-47 to Rocky Mountain.

Despite the loss, Legacy got top-tier performance from Matthew Allshouse, who went 8 for 14 on his way to 19 points. The dominant performance gave Allshouse a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaedon Ward, who posted eight points.
Even though they lost, Legacy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Mountain Range was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 59-54 to Fairview. The Mustangs have struggled against the Knights recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Legacy will need focus on slowing down Preston Brunton, one of several Mountain Range players who made an impact when they last played. He went 9 of 21 on his way to 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeramiah Chavez, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 15 points.
Mountain Range's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Legacy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Legacy has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 29.7 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Mountain Range struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26.9 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Legacy strolled past Mountain Range in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 71-52. The rematch might be a little tougher for Legacy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
