Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Plano). They ended the year with a bang, routing the Newark Norsemen 72-47 on Thursday. The Reapers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Norsemen, too.

Several Norsemen players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dylan Long, who went 11 of 24 on his way to 28 points and three blocks. That was a full 59.6% of Newark's points, marking the eighth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Wills, who had eight points and six rebounds.

The victory got Plano back to even at 6-6. As for Newark, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-6.

Plano will face off against Somonauk at 7:15 p.m. on January 4, 2025. As for Newark, they and Gardner-South Wilmington will face off at 10:30 a.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Newark is facing Gardner-South Wilmington at the right time seeing as Gardner-South Wilmington is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
