Volleyball Recap: Escalante Takes a Loss

If Escalante was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Penasco last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lobos fell just short of the Mora Rangers/Rangerettes by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since November 6, 2023, but that streak is no more.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Escalante sadly wound up on the wrong side. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 21-25, 25-14, 21-25, 15-11.

Escalante's loss dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Mora, their victory bumped their record up to 10-12.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Escalante will face off against rival McCurdy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Mora is set to challenge their familiar foe Mesa Vista at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
