Baseball Recap: Belfry Victorious

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Thursday as neither Belfry nor Sherman made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Pirates sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over the Tide. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pirates.

The team relied heavily on Dante Davis, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Chase Varney was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Belfry's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Sherman, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-6.

Belfry didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 18-8 loss against West Carter on the 18th. As for Sherman, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 14-3 defeat against Scott on the 18th.
