Basketball Recap: Allatoona Takes a Loss

Allatoona lost against Cartersville back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Allatoona Buccaneers had to suffer through a 55-15 loss at the hands of the Cartersville Hurricanes. While losing is never fun, the Buccaneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 492nd, while the Hurricanes are ranked 122nd).

Cartersville got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaytlin Arnold out in front who posted 15 points. Another player making a difference was Zoe Mccurry, who had seven points in addition to five assists and four steals.

Allatoona dropped their record down to 2-14 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Cartersville, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.

Allatoona wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 67-24 win against Woodland on the 22nd. Cartersville has also already played their next contest, a 54-21 victory against Cass on the 22nd.
