Chesnee is a perfect 3-0 against High Point Academy since September of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Thursday, Chesnee was able to grind out a solid victory over Crescent, taking the game 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.
Chesnee walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-15, 21-25, 27-25.
Meanwhile, High Point Academy sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Greenville Tech Charter on Thursday.
High Point Academy wouldn't go down easily and took Greenville Tech Charter into a fifth set where they got it done with a 11-point win. The match finished with set scores of 24-26, 25-18, 25-11, 18-25, 15-4.
Chesnee better focus on containing Davan Beall and Angie Demidovich as the pair were huge in High Point Academy's win. Beall had seven digs and four aces, while Demidovich had eight digs and four aces. That's the most aces Beall has posted since back in September.
High Point Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 27 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 11 aces in three consecutive matchups.
Chesnee's record is now 16-4-1. As for High Point Academy, their record now sits at 8-10.
Chesnee took their win against High Point Academy in their previous meeting back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
