Basketball Recap: Riverside Extends Road Winning Streak to Seven

After losing to Christel House the last time they met, Riverside decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Riverside Argonauts narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Christel House Eagles 70-67.

Riverside's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brayden Torgrimson, who went 6-for-10 on his way to 20 points. Another player making a difference was Jase Bennett, who posted 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists.

Riverside was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Christel House only nine assists.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Terrance Meredith, who went 6-for-13 en route to 18 points along with five boards and three steals. Meredith continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Matios Russ was another key player, dropping a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds.

Riverside's victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points over those games. As for Christel House, their loss dropped their record down to 14-9.

Looking ahead, Riverside will take on International at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. International will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Riverside surely won't give up without a fight. As for Christel House, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 86-69 victory against Indianapolis Arsenal Technical on the 22nd.
