Football Game Preview: Tumwater Thunderbirds vs. Washougal Panthers + How To Watch

Tumwater has won five straight games at home, while Washougal has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Thunderbirds will face off against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Tumwater knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Washougal likes a good challenge.

On Friday, Tumwater blew past Sultan, posting a 51-6 win. With the Thunderbirds ahead 44-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Peyton Davis had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 71 yards and a pair of scores, while also catching one touchdown. Davis is also crushing it when it comes to rushing touchdowns: he's punched in at least two every time he's taken the field this season. Another back making a difference was Gauge Thurber, who rushed for 53 yards and one TD.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Tumwater proved: they limited Sultan to a paltry 3.1 yards per carry. That's the most yards per carry they've posted since the start of last season.

Meanwhile, Washougal was able to grind out a solid victory over Fife on Friday, taking the game 30-23.

Tumwater's record is now 8-1. As for Washougal, their record now sits at 9-1.

Everything came up roses for Tumwater against Washougal in their previous matchup back in November of 2017, as the squad secured a 55-0 win. Will the Thunderbirds repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
