Basketball Recap: Marcus Makes It Eight in a Row at Home

Marcus had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They were the clear victor by a 69-47 margin over the Martin Warriors on Friday. Given the Marauders' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Warriors are ranked 122nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Marcus pushed their record up to 27-8 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.9 points over those games. As for Martin, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 23-14.

Coming up, Marcus will challenge Lake Ridge on Monday. Lake Ridge will roll in looking for their 15th straight win, something Marcus surely won't give up without a fight. Martin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
