Recap: Lassiter Trojans vs. Walker Wolverines
The Lassiter Trojans lost to the Walker Wolverines back in November of 2022, but the Lassiter Trojans didn't allow the Walker Wolverines the same satisfaction on Saturday. Lassiter walked away with a 49-42 victory over Walker.
Lassiter had a senior duo take command as Jaden Emmanuelli scored 16 points and Kyhir Torrence scored 13 points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that Torrence grabbed two or more steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Venuti, who scored five points along with six rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Walker lost, one person who can't be blamed is Noah Pederson. Despite the final result, he scored 20 points. The matchup was Pederson's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Anderson Carey, who scored ten points.
Lassiter's victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Walker, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-2.
Lassiter will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on South Forsyth at 2:30 p.m. on December 28th. South Forsyth has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 204 points over their last three contests. Walker is on the road again on Thursday and play against Marietta at 4:30 p.m. on December 21st. Marietta is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
