Volleyball Recap: Jefferson Takes a Loss

Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Dr. Maya Angelou Community Phoenix. The Democrats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Phoenix earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Jefferson started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-13, 25-20, 25-17.

Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Dr. Maya Angelou Community, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Jefferson is set to face off against their familiar foe Los Angeles at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Dr. Maya Angelou Community will square off against rival Diego Rivera at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
