Basketball Recap: William Lane and Jackson Suttles Secure Win for Calvary Christian Academy

Calvary Christian Academy won the last time they faced Juniata Christian and things went their way on Thursday too. The Calvary Christian Academy Conquerors walked away with a 55-42 win over Juniata Christian. Given the Conquerors' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 322nd, while Juniata Christian are ranked 731st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Calvary Christian Academy was led to victory by Jackson Suttles and William Lane. Suttles posted 22 points, while Lane dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Lane has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Paiton Zimmerman was another key player, putting up ten points.

Calvary Christian Academy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1. As for Juniata Christian, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calvary Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against DuBois Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Juniata Christian, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll take on Northumberland Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
